How (And Why) Does Bio-Claire® Aquarium Sparkle Granules work?
Only a few minutes after you have introduced the Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules to your Aquarium the Enzymes ‘attack’ the fish waste to turn it into food for the bacteria to multiply and allow the ionisation of any ammonia in the water into natural nitrogen gas. This nitrogen then escapes through the aquarium’s water surface, thereby avoiding the further formation of ‘Nitrite’ and ‘Nitrate’ – the latter of which being responsible for the survival of algae.
 
Each gram of Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules contain approximately 200,000,000 bacteria. Once activated, these bacteria split every 20 minutes – So – after just 20 minutes (or so) there will be 400,000,000 bacteria – after 40 minutes 800,000,000 – and – after one hour, there will be 1.6 BILLION bacteria (and that’s just for each gram of our product).

Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules therefore also naturally reduce Nitrate levels. Your fish will not be shocked by the rapid and un-natural changes some chemical conditioners may bring.

The reason for keeping up the regular Maintenance doses is that due to a normal ‘life-cycle’ the bacteria in the Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules tend to stop splitting (rather than dying off) after about 10 days after activation. It is proven that if the Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules maintenance dose is introduced before the end of that cycle (i.e. on a weekly basis) then the natural balance of the Aquarium water is adequately maintained.

You will not need any other material to keep your Aquarium water healthy. In fact, it is advisable to use ONLY Bio-Claire® ‘Aquarium Sparkle’ Granules as an additive to your Aquarium during any Bio-Claire® treatment period.
