FAQs For 'Bio-Claire'

1. How does Bio-Claire work? Bio-Claire works by ionising any ammonia in the water - into nitrogen, which is then released through the surface of the pond. This prevents the formation of nitrite and thereafter nitrate, which is the natural food of algae and filament algae such as blanket weed.
2. Do the granules in Bio-Claire dissolve? No, the granules are volcanic rocks, which act as a carrier for bacteria.
3. Where do I put Bio-Claire – in the filter or in the pond? Bio-Claire works more effectively if sprinkled throughout the pond, as it is a natural carrier for the bacteria to colonise on and eventually spread through the whole pond system.
4. Do I have to mix Bio-Claire with water? No, just sprinkle it in.
5. Is Bio-Claire safe for cats, dogs and wild life? Yes, it is 100% natural; there are no toxins that would harm any living being or plant.
6. Does Bio-Claire harm plants? No – if anything, Bio-Claire All-in-One Original Pond Conditioner nurtures plants – other than Algae.
7. How often do you use Bio-Claire? Monthly for Bio-Claire Original All in One Pond Conditioner.
8. Will it kill blanket weed? No, because the product is 100% natural, Bio-Claire will not kill or control the growth of blanket weed. Only Algaecides would do that (but then they are normally chemicals and have to have a licence). Bio-Claire, however, will create a natural balance in the pond where algae and blanket weed will not even want to live.
9. How quickly will Bio-Claire clear a pond? Bio-Claire has been known to clear ponds in as little as a day. However, as it is a natural product we are unable to foresee how long nature decides to take to do the job. (If we knew how nature works – we’d be millionaires).
10. What is Bio-Claire made of? Bio-Claire is made of 8 different sorts of Zeolite, a volcanic rock with a very high surface area due to its crystalline structure. These granules are then carefully blended with Good Bacteria and enzymes, together with secret products only used in Bio-Claire.
11. Do I have to clear Bio-Claire out of the pond? There is no need – it is advisable to leave Bio-Claire in the pond as long as possible as the bacteria will colonize and multiply more readily within the granulate structures.
12. Will Bio-Claire ‘bust the sludge’ in my pond? Will it clog my filter? Yes, it will act as a sludge buster and send the sludge through the filter where it will be deposit itself on the filter media – however, once the balance is established in the pond, the filter will also become cleaner.
13. Can I use Bio-Claire with other products? We strongly advise to use only Bio-Claire during any Bio-Claire treatment.
14. Is Bio-Claire affected by or does it affect medication products? Bio-Claire does not necessarily affect medication products, but medications can affect the efficacy of the bacteria in Bio-Claire.
15. Does Bio-Claire help to clear chlorine in tap water? Yes.
16 What is the shelf life of Bio-Claire and how is it best stored? Bio-Claire best stored in a dry area not below freezing or above 45 degrees centigrade.
17. I have used other products on the market with limited success - does Bio-Claire work? Yes, it always works as long as you realise it is a natural product and treat it as such. Just have patience.
18. Will Bio-Claire work without a filter? Yes – it is particularly helpful in wild life ponds – but in such conditions it may take that much longer to find a balance. Oxygen – in any form is a great help.
19. Can I overdose with Bio-Claire? No, definitely not, but it is advisable to always use enough.
20. Will Bio-Claire clog my pipe work? Certainly not – the enzymes in effect work in similar fashion to those used in washing powder to ease the dirt away from your household washing.

FAQs For 'Rapide'

1. How does Rapide work? Rapide contains poly-electrolytes that attract suspended particles in the water and together they form large ‘flocks’. These flocks then drop to the bottom of the pond.
2. Will stirring the water harm the fish? In our experience gained through the application of Rapide to hundreds of ponds we have not had any adverse feedback about harm to fish.
3. Whilst treating my pond should I turn off my filter system? No, this is not necessary, in fact this helps with the distribution of Rapide through the pond – however IT IS IMPORTANT to turn off any air stones, venturi or other aeration system. This could cause the flocks to float to the surface having attracted micro bubbles of air and could make the pond unsightly.
4. How long shall I leave the resulting ‘flocks’ in the pond? It is advisable to leave the flocks in the pond for a week to 10 days to allow the pond to benefit from the bacteriological activity and stabilising the pH. It is at this stage that we advise you to continue the treatment with Bio-Claire Pond Conditioner or Miracle Plus to keep the pond in good condition.
5. How do I clear out the sediment? After having left the sediment in the pond for 7/10 days you can then either agitate the sediment so that it fill be mechanically filtered out or alternatively ‘sweep’ the bottom of the pond with a flat fish net and the flocks allow themselves to be gathered quite easily.
6. How do I dispose of the resultant sludge? Once collected from the pond dig it into the soil in your garden - it is a good nutrient and can only help plants to flourish.
7. How often do I have to treat the pond with Rapide? Rapide is the only one of our product range, at this time, which is a one-off treatment. It is designed to clear ponds quickly to enable you to see the fish, or show off your pond for a garden party or barbeque. If you want to keep the pond water clear – long term, our conditioning products will do the same job but may take some time to work.
8. How do I store Rapide? We have designed our packages to cover the most common sizes of ponds. If you have any Rapide left, ensure that it is kept dry in a sealed pot or plastic bag. Store in a warm dry place.
9. What is the shelf life of Rapide? Unopened; Rapide will last up to two years, but please ensure it is stored in dry conditions.
10. How long will it really take to work? The statement that Rapide works in minutes is absolutely true in the majority of ponds, (which are known to be less than 500 gallons). However, the time and speed at which a pond clears, many times depends upon the type of debris that Rapide is expected to clear as well as the size of the pond. Quite logically the larger the pond the longer it takes for the flocks to sink to the bottom. For example, to clear an 8,500 gallon pond took 2 hours and a 36,000 gallon pond took a day to clear.

FAQs For 'Gold Clay with Aloe Vera'

1. Why Montmorillonite Clay? Our gold clay is ultra fine and has great absorptive qualities. It contains trace elements and health giving minerals, which are found in fishes’ natural habitat. The trace elements leach into the water thereby improving the fishes’ natural immune system.
2. Will it help the colours in the fish? Most definitely as it builds up the mucus on the fish scales and also builds up the immune system to make the colours more candescent.
3. Will it help the fish’s skin? Yes, it will strengthen the skin through the build up of mucus levels.
4. Why do you need aloe Vera? Fish, as many living things do not relish change in their environment. Fish suffer stress through any number of factors - from water changes, addition of fish or even handling. Aloe Vera will greatly reduce stress levels.
5. How do I put it in the pond? Simply sprinkle close to the filter return into the pond or the base of any waterfall. The Gold Plus will spread throughout the pond like smoke. The fish will also like swimming through it.
6. Do I need to mix it first? No, definitely not, the mixture will lose its ability to absorb toxins in the pond.
7. How else will it help my fish? Our Gold Clay is a digestive catalyst in its own right and the healing Aloe Vera will slowly leach out into the water.
8. Does it help with the pH balance in my pond? Yes! Gold Clay buffers the pH in a natural way allowing the pond to gradually find its own level suitable for its environment.
9. How much Montmorillonite is there in Gold Plus? Some companies who sell ‘Montmorillonite’ claim that their clay is 97% Montmorillonite. Geologists have proven this is virtually impossible. Our Suba clay has between 40-50% Montmorillonite clay and Clinoptilolite, which is particularly beneficial in the absorption of ammonia and other toxins. As a result our Gold Clay is probably the best balance of minerals, which work to the benefit of fish.
